Rules of the 2-player wooden battleship game:

Setting up the field.
Two players pick a set with 8 ships. One fleet consists of 3 mine searching boats, 2 frigates, 2 cruisers and 1 battleship. There are 2 fields: the light board and the blue one. Each player strategically places their own boats on the light field. The ships should not collide with or touch each other vertically or horizontally. In other words, they must not be adjacent to the edges of a ship.

Strategy of the sink-the-ship game
The aim of the game is to sink all the ships of the rival. The starting player is chosen randomly. Every player, in turns, has to communicate 1 board coordinate by “shooting” from his boats, like “J8”. The other player has to respond by looking at that coordinate. If there is nothing on it, then this player answers “Water!”. If there is a boat, then says “Hit!” or “Hit and sunken!”. The boat gets sunken, when all its parts have been hit. If a player hits a rival’s boat, then one more strike is allowed. The player marks strikes and hit targets on the blue field to keep tracking of the opponent’s progress.
