Wooden Clock

This amazing handcrafted Wooden Clock from Oyuncak House is a great toy and tool, designed to engage little minds in understanding the concept of time. With regular practice, a child will successfully master telling the time. In order to hit this milestone, various printed task cards will be of beneficial help.

You should consider two learning phases:
– The first one is called “Analogue-on-Analogue Practice”: a child has a task card with a visual display of time in an analogue format, and repeats/transfers the same positioning of the arms onto the wooden clock by rotating its arms respectively. One can start this exercise closer to 5 years… and practice it for quite a long time.
– The second one is called “Digital-on-Analogue Practice”: a child reads the numbers/the time (ex. 11:25, 16:05) on a printed task card and shows the right answer on the wooden analogue puzzle clock by rotating the arms. Between 8-9 years of age, one can/should introduce a digital format. By the age 9-10, children should be able to differentiate the analogue and digital time-telling versions.

Side Note: Solid wood is unique, thus every produced piece may quite often vary in colour and natural structural and discolouration patterns, than shown on images of our online store. Sometimes due to certain textural knots, the result of wood finishing may show cosmetic flaws, which do not at all downgrade functionality of the educational toy.

Care instructions: Wooden toys might leave oily stains due to its recent production, keep away from valuable items and preserve them in an eco-friendly carton box or wrapped in clean paper, or in a canvas/cotton storage bag. Never soak a wooden toy in water. In case it got dirty, just spray/apply a tiny amount of gentle organic cleaner, wipe with a sponge or washcloth and a bit of warm water. Ensure to air dry the toy before storing or playing. Every once in a while, you need to replenish the moisture in the wood with boiled organic linseed oil.
