The wooden Domino Puzzle Animals from Andreu Toys extends its value throughout a long period of time in the child’s life. In toddlerhood, the child seeks and matches 27 living creatures on the puzzle side. Whereas as of the age of 3 or 4 years old, the 28 illustrated tiles transform into the classic dotted dominoes.
Play option for 1 player:
Match the halves of the animals, horizontally and vertically, to create a beautiful puzzle. The ultimate goal of the child is to find a way to frame the puzzle into a rectangular shape.
AND
Build a tower or a wall, or create a domino chain reaction.
Play option 2, for 2 and more players:
Play the classic dotted domino game by turning over the wooden tiles.
AND
Use the dotted sides to learn to count from 1 to 6 by associating the dots with digits (between 3 and 4 years of age). For example, pick 10 different dotted tiles. Cut out 20 squares (4×4 cm) from a piece of paper. Write down numbers by hand associated with the pre-selected tiles. The goal of the child is to match each cut-out square to the part of the dotted tile.
Learning benefits from playing the classic dominoes:
– train social skills and turn-taking
– foster bonding between players
– promote motor skills, motor-planning and hand-eye coordination
– improve tactical and strategic thinking
– spark curiosity and instill love for numeracy at an early age
– train concentration and spatial awareness
– at the end of the game, provide a sense of accomplishment.
