Learn different shapes and sizes with the Puzzle Montessori “Spider Webs” from our Montessori wooden collection. The activity promotes visual discrimination along with eye-hand coordination. The child trains to associate objects based on their geometric shapes and sizes in terms of the nesting principle. How would each bigger or smaller form fit into another one? It enriches vocabulary (to compare and describe objects), promotes early math skills and expands general horizons of knowledge.
The Puzzle Montessori “Spider Webs” has 6 basic geometric shapes. Namely, a circle, a square, a triangle, an oval, a rhombus and a rectangle.
– Within each shape, the inner and outer layers have distinctive colours.
– Learn the concept of big and small attributes within each shape.
– The activity promotes counting 18 objects in total. From 1 to 3 within 1 shape.
– One could use 18 different shapes as stencils of the Puzzle Montessori. Just trace them with an erasable pencil on paper and colour them. Why not draw a snowman, a train, a car, a house, a person?
It is essential for children to grasp the concept of the nesting principle until the age of 2-3 years.
Side note: the colour combination of the Puzzle Montessori (i.e., the colour of the puzzle pieces against the colour of the board) is selected for you randomly.
