Learn different sizes with the Bigger or Smaller sorting toy from our Montessori wooden collection. The activity promotes visual eyeballing along with hand coordination. The child trains how to associate objects based on their forms and sizes. It enriches vocabulary (to compare and describe objects), promotes early math skills and expands general horizons of knowledge.
There are 3 basic geometric shapes: a circle, a square, a triangle.
– Each shape has 5 variations to sort from smallest to biggest.
– The activity promotes counting 5 objects, from 1 to 5.
– One can use 15 differently sized shapes as stencils of the Bigger or Smaller sorting toy. Just trace them on paper and colour them.
In the real world, kids often desperately want to know which is bigger? and who is smaller? Big and small, a lot and a little. It is essential for children to grasp the concept of big and small attributes until the age of 2-3 years.
Side note: the colour combination of the Bigger or Smaller sorting toy (i.e., the colour of the puzzle pieces against the colour of the board) is selected for you randomly.
